Blackfly Lodge started when artist, former Keys guide, musician and Blackfly Outfitter shop and restaurant owner Vaughn Cochran teamed up with native Bahamian Clint Kemp and world angler Dave Byler to create a special place for anglers at Schooner Bay in southern Abaco. Since opening just two years ago, the lodge has received great reviews from guests and plenty of attention from media. Garden & Gun magazine named them a “best new flats fishing destination.”

The Lodge’s fishing zones in South Abaco allow for great fishing regardless of tides or wind direction–from Mores Island, to the marls, to walk-and-wade opportunities on the south shores. Blackfly Lodge guides aim to get anglers to as many of these zones as possible on each trip. Each of these zones is unique and has some of the best fishing for bonefish, permit and tarpon in the world.
The Lodge can accommodate up to 8 anglers fishing for 2 to 7 days per week, each with their own private bath and room, 2 anglers per boat. The Lodge is also home to some of the finest food in the Bahamas, featuring daily catches and seasonal Bahamian cuisine.
Abaco is also an easy choice because of its proximity to Florida, with direct flights to Marsh Harbor from many cities on the mainland.
